An in-depth German experience

From 3rd to 9th November 2019, the annual study trip Ukrainian Bachelor students to Jena, Erfurt and Berlin took place.

Under the title "Energy as a political driving force - German and European energy politics between energy security and the fight against
climate change ", this year's trip dealt with the different facets of energy policy, in which environmental, economic and security issues.
During the study trip, the students learned about not only different political Institutions (Thuringian State Parliament and Bundestag), but also held discussions with experts from politics, science (Thomas O'Donnell, Hertie School of Governance) and Civil Society (Agora Energiewende, BEE e.V., WindNODE) on the different dimensions of the German energy transition and current energy policy.  We were especially pleased, this year to win Prof. Mario Voigt for a revealing and open conversation about his work as Member of Parliament, the Thuringian energy policy and the current main political challenges.

We continued to meet representatives of the Foundation for Science and Politics, the DGAP and the BDI- the German Federation of Industries.
The study tour is funded by the DAAD and is part of the Cooperation project with the Mohyla Academy in Kyiv.
